Exploring the grey areas of teaching together.

In September, I will be going into my 7th year of teaching. During this time I have worked in a range of classes across KS2, as well as in both a one-from and two-form entry school. However, most of my experience is in teaching Year 6, where I have been for 4 years. Because of this, I have developed a keen interest in transition from primary to secondary, which has led to my new role as KS3 Transition Teacher in a secondary! I have a huge passion for teaching English (both reading and writing!) and also literature in general; I am fortunate enough to review books, too, which you can find on my other blog: http://www.theteacherbookworm.com. I hope to post on a range of topics including mental health (which I am keen to promote due to a toxic past experience within a school) as well as wellbeing, curriculum, current educational affairs and anything else that seems relevant or interesting! Teaching isn’t black and white; let’s explore the grey areas together ☺️
My main interests in education:
- Mental Health
- Wellbeing
- Transition
- English (Reading & Writing)
